How We Verify Your Contact Lens Prescription
At Global Lens, we take prescription verification seriously. As required by the FTC Contact Lens Rule, we verify every contact lens prescription with your eye care provider before fulfilling your order. This protects your vision health and ensures you receive the correct lenses.

What You Need to Provide
When placing your order, you'll need to provide:
- Your eye care provider's name and practice name
- Provider's phone number and email address
- Your complete prescription details (power, base curve, diameter, cylinder, axis if applicable)
- Your prescription's issue date and expiration date
- A copy of your prescription (PDF or photo upload)
How to Provide Your Prescription
You can provide your prescription by:
- Uploading a photo or PDF during checkout
- Emailing it to support@globallens.com with your order number
- Having your doctor send it directly to us
-
Our Verification Process
Here's how we verify your prescription:
Step 1: You place your order and provide your prescription information
Step 2: We contact your eye care provider within 2 business hours via phone and email
Step 3: We request confirmation that your prescription is current and accurate
Step 4: Once verified, we process and ship your order within 24 hours
Verification Timeline
- We make reasonable efforts to verify all prescriptions within 8 business hours
- If we cannot reach your provider within 8 business hours, federal law allows us to proceed with your order based on the prescription information you provided
- Most verifications are completed within 4-6 hours during business hours
-
What If My Prescription Is Invalid or Expired?
If we discover your prescription is:
Expired: We'll contact you immediately to help you get an updated prescription
Incorrect: We'll reach out to clarify the details with you and your provider
Unable to verify: We'll work with you to find an alternative solution
We'll never ship lenses we cannot verify unless legally permitted to do so. Your vision health is our priority.
